Privacy policy
Last updated October 5, 2026.
The short version
When you sign up for the free book, we keep your first name and email address so we can send you the book and our monthly letter. We don't sell or rent your information, and you can unsubscribe or ask us to delete it at any time.
What we collect
- When you sign up: your first name, your email address, the page you signed up on, the date and time, and the IP address and browser details sent with the form. We keep the last three as a record of your consent.
- When you download the book: the date and how many times your download link has been used.
- When you browse: our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes standard request information (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver and protect the site. We don't run advertising trackers.
How we use it
- To send you the book and, about once a month, a letter with new guides, tools and articles.
- To keep the sign-up form free of spam and abuse.
- To answer you if you write to us.
Who helps us
Cloudflare hosts the site, stores the subscriber list and runs Turnstile, the check that keeps bots off our forms. Postmark delivers our email and may record whether a message was delivered, opened or clicked. Each handles your information only to provide that service to us.
Your choices
- Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link.
- Email mainstreet@smalltownguide.com to see, correct or delete what we hold about you. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state law, and we'll honor them.
Cookies
We don't use advertising or analytics cookies. Cloudflare may set cookies that are strictly necessary for security. Your family wish list is saved only in your own browser.
Children
This site is for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes and contact
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above. Questions: mainstreet@smalltownguide.com or Small Town Guide, 110 NW 2nd St, Cedaredge, CO 81413.
